Meet Our Founder: Zexuan Zhang

“Growing up, I was forever caught between two worlds: my scientist’s mind and my grandmother’s mystic heart.”

As a Materials Science master from Imperial College London, I lived in a world of atoms and equations. Yet nights in my dorm were spent studying my grandmother’s letters from Sichuan – filled with tales of Wood Dragons, Water Tigers, and crystals that hummed with the energy of mountains.

My grandmother was a keeper of ancestral secrets: the whispers of the Five Elements, the dance of Yin and Yang, and the celestial stories of the 12 Zodiac Animals. But as a restless teen, I craved the wider world. At 18, I left for London, diving into the study of crystals and geology while working at a metaphysical shop near Camden Market.

One grey winter, drowning in city chaos, I clutched the Black Tourmaline pendant Grandma gave me. Suddenly, her teachings flooded back: “Stones aren’t pretty rocks – they’re Earth’s energy made visible.” In that moment, reiki energy and crystal science fused in my soul.

I spent years apprenticing with masters: learning Bagua symbolism from elders in Wudang, mapping energy fields with Luo Pan compasses, and sourcing crystals from Himalayan caves to Brazilian forests. I realized Eastern wisdom wasn’t folklore – it was a language of energy the modern world had forgotten.
